Austin has opened its doors to the hopes and dreams of all of its current and former residents. From William Barton, who moved his family here in 1836 to a piece of land where the natural springs still bear his name, to Michael Dell, a former University of Texas student who’s permanently changed the commerce of technology, Austin has been a continual source of inspiration to the artists, educators and entrepreneurs who have chosen to make this extraordinary place their home.
